How to install and use gate valve

1) Check valve appearance to identify the product is damaged or not during the transportation. The valve shall not have cracks, trachoma, mechanical damage, and defects such as rust, the fasteners are loose or damaged.

2) Switch the valve vertically three times, the valve should be opening and closing flexible, no jam phenomenon. Clean the valve, make it in the closed state.      

3)Check on both sides of the pipe flange coaxial with the vertical position, clean up the pipeline, to avoid iron, sand, slag, and other debris damage valve sealing surface.

4) The handwheel and the valve spindle should not to be handle when handling and lifting, should use the flanges or lug handling. No collisions.

5)Vertical installation is the best position of gate valve. Don’t down to install valve handwheel, in order to avoid causing corrosion on the valve spindle and the nut.

6)The gaskets should be placed between two sides of the valve connection and the flanges of the pipeline when installation, which should be selected according to the requirements, like pressure, temperature, medium etc.

7)The valve flanges and the pipe flanges must be parallel; Tighten to symmetric alternating when flange bolt fastening, locking force is appropriate, prevent excessive stress to damage the valve.

8)Gate valves only are used for full open or full close, should not be used as a throttle valve, the disc should not be stayed in the middle position for long time, avoid shorten the valve’s life.

9)The valve is opening and closing with handwheel, it is forbidden to use auxiliary leverage or other tools. Avoid overexerting to damage sealing face and other parts. It should be timely find out the reason when the jam occurred, be ruled out. When the handwheel rotate clockwise to shut down, and the reverse direction to open.

10)The spindle thread shall be maintained in clean, regularly rub lubricating oil when it is using.

11)After the valve installed in the new pipelines , it can be repeatedly raise, the sundry is rinsed cleanly by high-speed fluid in the pipe, in order to improve the use safety and the life of the valve.

12)Large size valves should be installed in a horizontal pipeline, and should be fixed with support.

13)If necessary, the bypass line and a certain amount of expansion or expansion pipe bending should be installed in the pipeline. For large size gate valves with bypass valve, when opened, should firstly open the bypass valve, then slowly open valve, when closed, you should firstly close the bypass valve, then slowly close the gate valve.         

14) The valve is rarely used after installation , turn the handwheel regularly, lubricate the stem thread to avoid sticking.

15) Users can make maintenance cycle according to the frequency of switching valve and filling grease into spindle, actuator on time as stipulated in the cycle.

16) The valve not installed should be neatly placed in ventilated dry room, the flange plane couldn’t land. Doing antirust on a regular basis.
